Personal Background

Matt Rollins is a native West Virginian born in Charleston, WV. Matt has resided for extended durations in Putnam, Kanawha, Cabell, and Monongalia Counties.

Educational Background

After graduating from Winfield High School in Putnam County, he attended Marshall University, graduating with a degree in business administration. Matt then attended the West Virginia University College of Law. While in law school, Matt received two CALI awards for the highest grade in his particular class and was a member of the WVU Law School Moot Court. During his second summer in law school, Matt spent two months in China studying the languages, cultures, and legal systems of China. Additionally, Matt participated in the WVU law clinic during his third year of law school, rendering pro bono legal services to West Virginians.

Legal Experience

During law school Matt spent a summer as a law clerk for several Administrative Law Judges in the Social Security Administration. After his graduation from law school, Matt returned to Charleston WV, where he worked at a small plaintiff’s firm as associate attorney. Afterward, Matt became an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Jackson County, where he worked until he decided to return to Morgantown to pursue private practice. Matt formed the Rollins Law Office in 2006 in Charleston. In 2008, the practice was moved to Morgantown.
